** UPDATED PRESS RELEASE **

On July 1, 2010 the Tomah Police Department sent out the below News Release in reference to a Death Investigation.  Subsequent to the initial news release the name of the deceased subject was released identifying him as William Cross.

The Tomah Police Department has since received the results of the autopsy performed by the University of Wisconsin, School of Medicine and Public Health.  As of this time the cause of death has been determined to be the result of “positional asphyxia associated with mixed hydrocodone and ethanol intoxication.”
