Summary of Incident:
On August 8, 2011 at @ 5:45 p.m. the Tomah Police Department responded
to the Aldis’ store located near the intersection of Highways 12 and 21
for an incident that occurred in the parking lot.
Upon arrival officers spoke with a male victim, 42 yoa, from Chicago,
Illinois. The victim advised that he arrived in Tomah on a
Greyhound Bus. While walking through the parking lot at Aldi’s,
the victim spoke with an unknown subject that was sitting inside a car.
The unknown subject advised that he was stuck in Tomah and needed to use
a phone. The victim leaned into the car to lend his cell phone and
saw that the subject was holding onto a handgun. The subject took
the victims cell phone and watch from him. The subject did not
threaten or say anything to the victim during the encounter other than
the initial conversation.
The victim described the subject as 27 to 30 yoa, male, black, and clean
shaven. The victim described the vehicle as a red ford with four
doors.
Witnesses in the area indicated that they saw a vehicle leave the Aldi’s
parking lot quickly. They described the vehicle as a red, Ford
Focus, with Illinois plates and tinted windows.
