The Tomah Police Department has received information of an internet scam. The scam involves a subject from Hong Kong and the Ukraine asking for help with a business transaction involving a large sum of money.

Citizens are cautioned about responding to these e-mails and entering into agreements with subjects via the internet.  These e-mails usually come to someone in their junk e-mail and the recipient is “undisclosed”.  This generally means the e-mail has been sent to numerous people.

At this time unless you are the victim of internet fraud there is no reason to contact the police department. The Tomah Police Department recommends simply deleting the e-mail.
